Isaiah Forty

Isaiah Forty is an international Christian ministry. We’re from many denominations, but what unites us is a deep love for guiding people to spiritual and emotional health. You’ll find us throughout North America counselling, teaching, praying, and coaching, all from the conviction that God offers healing and wholeness to people at all stages and conditions of life.

We see in the project of healing and wholeness the task of making disciples (cf. Matthew 28:20). But, on the basis of that same Christian commitment, Isaiah Forty offers services to people of any faith or none at all (cf. Matthew 5:14-16).

We see in our work the movement of the Holy Spirit. But it’s also made possible by many who see in Isaiah Forty the work of God and have decided to give their time and their money so that we might offer our services to those who can only afford very little.

These ongoing relationships of monthly donations and Ministry Partnership mean that these people might continue to find the healing and wholeness they need.

Our Leadership

Isaiah Forty is led by our Board of Directors, our President, and our Executive Team.

Amanda McGann

President and CEO

Amanda McGann is a counselor and teacher with a deep love for Jesus. As Isaiah Forty's President, she serves as the spiritual, cultural, and visionary head of the ministry, leading it to fulfill its mission to help people unearth the fullness of life in Christ Jesus. Amanda’s passion is seeing a healthy, whole church accurately reflect a healthy, whole God. She loves trail running, reading fiction, and barn dances. She lives in Vermont (U.S.) with her husband Gabe and their three children.

Tamara Cameron

Director of Spiritual Formation

Tamara Cameron is a spiritual director, a one-on-one coach, and a ceramic artist. She loves seeing people (and art!) take shape, in God's providence. She's been involved in the ministry of Isaiah Forty for 25 years. As Director of Spiritual Formation, Tamara oversees our other spiritual directors and spiritual formation coaches. She loves meals around the dining room table with family and friends, playing with their new puppy, and sailing—when she has the chance. She and Alex have four grown children and three grandchildren. They live outside of Pittsburgh, PA (US).

Eva Bodo

Director of Counselling

Eva Bodo, in addition to being a counsellor herself, serves as Isaiah Forty’s Director of Counselling. In this role, she oversees our other counsellors, seeking to foster in others the capacity for healing conversation. Eva was introduced to Isaiah Forty more than twenty years ago, when she sought services at Isaiah Forty in her own healing journey. When she’s not at work, she enjoys reading, playing guitar, and spending time with her bouquet of grandkids. Eva and her husband Bob live on a farm east of Ottawa, ON (CAN).

Adam Gosnell

Director of Operations

Adam Gosnell is an Anglican priest and a systems architect. Adam feels called to bring structure to the chaotic and to help leaders order their communities as an expression of pastoral care. As Isaiah Forty's Director of Operations, Adam oversees finance, HR, IT, and property. He also offers spiritual direction and pastoral counselling. Adam lives in Chicago, IL (US), with his lovely wife, Rebecca, and their children. He enjoys learning new things, computer coding, and is an avid indoorsman.

Our Story

Isaiah Forty was established in 1991 by Vina Sweetman, a woman of extraordinary prayer and with a gift for teaching people from all walks of life. At the time, it was little more than an extension of her existing ministry of counselling and teaching. But, under her leadership, Isaiah Forty started a counselling center in Montreal, which would become our base of operations, and began a circuit of conferences—many of which we continue to this day—leading people into healing and wholeness.

In 2018, Vina went to be with the Lord. But her work as continued. Since then, we’ve continued to grow, both in Canada and throughout the world.

What We Believe

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God.

We believe that God made us in his image.

We believe that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the presence of the risen Jesus is living and active in the world, healing and guiding us to wholeness.

We believe that our whole person—body, soul, and spirit—is to be cared for and called into maturity in Christ.
